Tourism in Indonesia has a huge affect on the economy. In 2009 the amout of money spent by international tourists is about 6.5 billion billion in US dollars spent. People go to Indonesia to see the great nature and culture thats there to offer. Indonesia has an archipelago of 17,508 islands, but only 6,000 of them being inhabited. Southeast Asian Games 2011 In Indonesia- Sporting Events
On November 11th-22nd Indonesia will be holding the 2011 SouthEast Asian Games. The games hold many sporting events that include all 11 countries from the Southeast Asia region. There are 34 sports that each country will participate in but list is to long to name all. Some of the standardsports inclube tennis, football (soccer), basketball, swimming, baseball, and volleyball. The Southeast Asian Games are very much like the Olympic Games but of course not as big as the Olympic Games. Indonesia was choosen to host 4 other times in 1979, 1987, 1997, and now in 2011.
